I knew nox when i was 16 and have met him personally since we live in the same city! i was actually the first one who met nox personally out of all the online friends he has and i was surprised to find out his biological gender. When we first met he told me “Surprise im actually a big sister(ate)” probably because he felt pity when he saw me ask the men around the meeting spot we decided to. We had a convo about his gender identity and he gave me permission to call him “big sister” irl but “big brother” online and how this will be our little secret. Ive kept this secret until he came out to our friends himself thats why we felt like our friendship bond got deeper now that the truth is out and he isnt a cis male as what he posed to be in the internet and during that trip we also discussed his identity again and he came out as nonbinary he told us its alright to call him she/he;; I felt like i should have scolded him when he lied about himself… he made up stories back in skype using a cis male identity and how he was really proactive. He even gave tips on where the gspot is and stuff making it sound like its a real experience as a cis male himself!! I just felt like its not my secret to tell and i didnt want him to hate me so i just shrugged it off because those claims of his tryst are impossible. I never knew all the things he did in the past and while he stayed friends with my friends and its just so despicable finding out how he has used so many people, especially the kind people in this fandom!

During our independent investigation, we could not verify Nox’s gender identity, and thus chose not to assume. Ex-friends came forward, saying that he had told them he was really a girl (such as the above comment), and to address him as such. An ex-partner came forward, saying that at the same time, he had told them he was trans and already on T. Even more people came forward, saying that he had told them he was NB and accepted any pronouns. Because of the conflicting accounts given by Nox himself, we decided to simply refer to him by the terms he had set out for himself in public, which were he/him pronouns. We also referred to facts which we were able to confirm, such as the fact that he was not a cis man (which was consistent across all accounts).
Our belief is that Nox’s conflicting accounts of his gender identity were simply another facet of the tangled web of lies he had crafted for himself. Though it is reasonable for one’s gender identity to change over time, Nox appeared to maintain multiple different identities at the same time for different people.
Finally: a somewhat recent quote from Nox, however unreliable his testimony may be, corroborates the story that he accepted any pronouns, in case anyone was wondering:

this fandom has harbored predators like this, knowingly and unknowingly, for many years. nox was not the only one, nor will he be the last. it was the largest reason for my distance and professional attitude on this blog, and was a motivator for me to leave this blog behind a year ago
